Our history
1999 Beginnings
It all began over 20 years ago when our founder, Tom Dippel, started working for his parents when he was just 16 years old.
2008 Branching Out
After his experience there, Tom officially began MDL and started building his own clientele.
Within the first few years, the business had grown to accommodate 5 full-time employees.
2016 Specializing
Soon after starting the lab, we partnered with Straumann to expand access to guided surgery services throughout the Midwest.
With guided surgery gaining popularity, MDL was at the forefront of the still-developing technology.
2021 Established
As MDL expanded further in both restorative and guided surgery modalities, more space was needed. In 2021, MDL purchased their current headquarters in Newport, Minnesota.
Since then, they have been filling that space with the latest technology and a highly talented team.
2024 Future
At MDL, we're proud of our history and excited about what the future holds.
We look to continue to improve our workflows, turnaround times, and persist in being pioneers in the dental industry.
